Distinguish the Caching Layers

SnowPro Core heavily tests the three caching layers. Know: metadata cache lives in Cloud Services (free), result cache lasts 24 hours and is shared across the account, warehouse/local disk cache is per-virtual-warehouse and cleared on suspend.

Time Management

100 questions in 115 minutes is roughly 1 minute 9 seconds per question. Pace yourself and flag uncertain questions — COF-C03 rewards breadth of knowledge across all six domains.

Know Time Travel vs Fail-Safe vs Cloning

These three are commonly confused. Time Travel is user-controlled (AT/BEFORE). Fail-Safe is automatic, 7 days, only accessible by Snowflake Support. Zero-copy cloning creates an instant snapshot that shares underlying storage with the source.

Scenario-Based Questions Dominate

COF-C03 is scenario-heavy. Practice eliminating wrong answers: if a question asks what happens when a warehouse suspends, remember the local disk cache is cleared — this distinction trips many candidates.
