ACT Test Format: The ACT consists of four multiple-choice sections (English, Math, Reading, Science) plus an optional Writing section. Total test time is 2 hours 55 minutes without Writing, or 3 hours 35 minutes with Writing.
Scoring: Each section is scored from 1-36. Your composite score is the average of your four section scores, rounded to the nearest whole number. The Writing section is scored separately on a scale of 2-12.
